University of Early College Experience
UConn Early College Experience (ECE) provides academically motivated students the opportunity to take university courses while still in high school. These challenging courses allow students to preview college work, build confidence in their readiness for college, and earn college credits that provide both an academic and a financial head-start on a college degree. The Stratford High School ECE instructors, who are certified as adjunct professors by UConn faculty, create a classroom environment fostering independent learning, creativity and critical thinking – all of which are pivotal for success in college. ECE students must successfully complete the course with a grade of C or better in order to receive university credit. University credits are highly transferable to other universities, but it is the student’s responsibility to check with specific universities for transfer of credit
**Important: please note that there is now a new UCONN ECE Grading Policy in effect for 2019-2020. Please visit www.ece.uconn.edu for more details.

Registration for the Advanced Placement exams will begin in September 2019. How Do I Enroll?
Once you've decided to take the AP challenge it's easy to enroll.
Talk to an AP teacher or the AP Coordinator at your school about the course you want to take. Discuss the course's workload and any preparation you might need.
If you are a homeschooled student or attend a school that doesn't offer AP, you can still participate. Each year hundreds of students participate through independent study. Some states even sponsor online AP courses.
