The NEHS celebrates the academic brilliance of high school students worldwide, igniting their passion for the English language arts. NEHS is the premier honor society for high school students who are captivated by English language and literature, creative writing, theater and drama, film and media studies, and journalism. This unique society offers an unparalleled chance for students, teachers, and schools to engage in an enriching, discipline-specific international community.

Our mission is to cultivate a vibrant environment where high school students and teachers can immerse themselves in the invaluable experiences of promoting literacy and serving society, while honoring exceptional and diverse achievements in the English language arts and related subjects.

Membership: In the fall, sophomores, juniors and seniors with a current GPA of 3.0 or better, and who are currently enrolled in an advanced or honors English course are invited to complete an application to determine if they meet the requirements for membership.
