Stratford Public Schools offers an optional Chromebook Insurance Policy that will be available for purchase throughout the school year to all students. The yearly insurance cost will be $33 per device for students at the middle and high school. If Parents/Guardians elect not to purchase the insurance policy, they are responsible for the cost of repairs or even replacements.
Accidental Damage:
Screen Breakage (evaluated when received by IT Office)
Keyboard Malfunctions (keys and key beds intact)
Trackpad Malfunctions
Accidental Liquid Spills
Web Camera Malfunctions
Charging port/USB Port Malfunctioning
Fire / Flood / Natural Disaster Damage (with accompanying documentation from personal insurance claim)
Theft from home/vehicle (with accompanying police report submitted within 48 hours theft
Vandalism from another student (with report made to School Administration)
Intentional Damage:
Cosmetic Damage to Chromebook case
Report of Theft of device from home/vehicle (without a police report)
Keyboard with missing keys/ removed key beds (rubber tips under keypads)
Intentional forceful breakage of the entire chromebook
Thrown from flat surface
Burned
Snapped or Smashed parts
Chargers that have been misplaced
Objects jammed into any ports on the chromebook that causes device to malfunction
Misplacement of the device at the fault of the student
You must create an account on My School Bucks in order to complete the Chromebook Insurance Policy.
