We are excited to welcome parents and guardians IN PERSON this year to meet our staff and learn more about the 2022-2023 school year! It is very important that at least one parent/guardian attend our Open House. Since many of our families have more than one child attending our school, we will be offering two sessions: Session 1 : 6:00 PM - 6:40 PM Session 2 : 6:50 PM - 7:30 PM While you are at Franklin, don’t forget to visit our Scholastic Book Fair!

Get Ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become bolder, prouder, and stronger readers. AND—as always—every book they buy earns rewards for our school. Franklin's book fair starts Monday, October 3rd until Friday, October 7th. Each classroom will have the opportunity to visit the fair twice with their teachers! Additionally, this year parents will also have the chance to visit our fair with their kids during our OPEN HOUSE ( Thursday, October 6th !) !!!! Last year many parents used the e-Wallet. the e-Wallet is a digital Wallet that parents set-up for their kids. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. If you can’t make it to the Fair, you can shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school. 🎃We are excited to share that we will once again host our Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 7th from 5:30-7:00 🎃We will need about 30 car trunks/ parking spaces to be decorated in the back lot. If you would like to participate, please share your information below. Please know we will accept entries on a first come, first served basis. In addition, we are also accepting candy donations. Good afternoon Families, Please be advised that we conducted a practice lockdown drill today. All staff and students did a great job following the appropriate safety processes.

Looks like today, September 9th will be a BEAUTIFUL day for our welcome back celebration!!! We will have 2 food trucks: Rolling Rolls & Urban Tacos ( menu attached in images) The “Bring the Hoopla” team will bring their hoops for us to play and also teach us some tricks 😀 The following community partners will also be present: YMCA, Sterling House, SouthEnd Community Center and the Stratford Library. Our amazing Franklin PTO & staff will be distributing uniforms & serving ice cream 🍨! The party starts at 5! We hope your family can join the fun!

👩‍⚕️As we approach the end of the school year, please be reminded that if your child has medication in the Health office an adult will need to pick up the remainder of the medication. You may stop by the Health office during school hours anytime prior to the last day of school, but no later than 12:00pm on Monday 06/20/2022. I can be reached at 203-385-4190 option 3 and we can schedule a day and time for the pick up of medication.

Pre-K, Kindergarten, First and Second grade's last school store will be on Tuesday, June 14th! All items for less than $2!

If you child has not returned the extra computer charger that we sent home at the beginning of the school year, please send it back to school on Monday. We will be organizing our technology inventory next week. Thank you !

Our young world 🌎 travelers visited all seven continents this week and took notes on their passports as they explored and learned about new countries, cultures & traditions . We concluded our week long multicultural celebration with international performers Abdul and Issa who brought a lot of excitement with African drumming and dancing lessons and a super fun whole school assembly. A shout out to our multicultural committee, wonderful teachers and many parents who participated this week and helped us celebrate the beautiful diversity within our community and our world!

Last month we sent a flier home about our "Franklin's PTO Closet". Our "Franklin Closet" is a sustainable initiative and clever way to support our school community by donating school uniforms. Our AWESOME PTO will wash, fold and sort the donated uniforms during the summertime and distribute them back to our Franklin Families during our welcome back event on Friday, September 2nd ! YAY! We would like to make our last week of school a uniform free week to encourage more donations : ) If you child has outgrown their uniforms or spirit wear, please send them our way next week to support other students/families. **Please make sure your child wears appropriate, comfortable clothes next week. A very special thank you to Mrs. Jade Vazquez ! She is spearheading this fantastic idea ! Thank you !!

Congratulations to our two sixth graders, Joem Gomez Vinluan and Caelyn Samms. The girls won the Senator Kelly Connecticut Women's Essay Contest. They were presented with their awards at the Stratford Library.
