Last week, second grade students had a unique and heartwarming experience at our "Pet Adoption Agency," where they had the opportunity to adopt their very own stuffed animal puppies. This creative initiative, designed to encourage reading at home, was met with excitement and enthusiasm by students.

Mr. Veteri guided students through a special reading oath. Each child pledged to read to their new puppy for at least 20 minutes every night, fostering a sense of responsibility and commitment to their reading goals.

The initiative aimed to make reading more enjoyable and meaningful for students by tying it to the concept of caring for a pet. By adopting a puppy, students not only felt a personal connection to their reading routine but also found a fun and interactive way to build their reading habits.
